Typing out the kind of work you're seeking into Google's search bar won’t cut it. Instead we’re going to use various sites and systems that are already in play to find quality projects.

The key to making these channels send a stream of opportunities are search operators also known as parameters.

In layman's terms they're word and symbol combinations that help you get more focused, more precise internet search results. Eventually we’re going to turn the queries into feeds that go straight to your feed reader.

To give you a quick crash course we’re going to use search operators in a simple Google search and get you accustomed to what they can do. You can also save the search results to be used later.

The main components of search parameters we'll be using are:

• Quotation Marks e.g. “developer” - This forces Google to return job results that specifically contain that word.
• OR e.g. “developer” OR “javascript” - If you want to see results for job postings that contain either of those keywords then you would use the OR operator.
• AND e.g. “developer” OR “javascript” AND “remote” - This will return jobs results that both contain those words and are remote.
• site: e.g site:hireremote.io “developer” OR “javascript” AND “remote” - To find results on a specific website, use the site: operator (N.B. don’t put a space between the colon and the website you want to limit searches to or it won’t work).

To eliminate results that contain certain words, use a negative symbol (with no space between the symbol and word). Therefore if you want to focus on senior roles rather than junior roles you could use...
